I'm very pleased to be included in a group show of landscape painters, opening this week at Haricot Gallery in North London.
'As If the Ground Remembered' takes as its premise that landscape is never neutral, looked at closely enough, it carries what has been and what is yet to come. The show brings together seven painters who, rather than treating land as scenery or setting, approach it as something closer to an archive. They read terrain and its long memory, working with that sense of recognition without certainty, rather than simply depicting it.
