Larger Landscapes 2007 & 2008
Liminal Landscapes
The Liminal Landscapes exhibition in 2008 comprised a series of large scale canvases, predominantly night scenes featuring still lakes and distant lights. The limited colour palette and overall feel of these works in part reflected my love of early Japanese silver print photography.

Somewhere In Between
The paintings in the Somewhere In Between series of 2007 developed ideas which originated from a trip to the Arctic Circle in the winter of 2006. After experiencing polar nights in the far north of Norway, frozen snow fields and the half-light of daytime, my imagined landscapes took on a different feel. I reimagined the familiar landscapes I knew as large scale deserted snowscapes, sometimes pictured at night. This reimagining became the predominant subject of my paintings for a number of years.
