The Hare's Corner Solo Show 2010

The Hare's Corner Solo Show 2010

The paintings in The Hare’s Corner Series explore a preoccupation with the hidden inner world of the wood. It's significance as a narrative ‘setting’ illuminates our deeply held connection to the woods both physically and metaphorically.

The 'hare’s corner' itself refers to an old Irish tradition of leaving a corner of the field uncut for the hare to escape to.  In allowing the wild hare refuge, the idea of the hare’s corner represents a metaphorical escape into the imagination.

The Hare's Corner Series includes a group of eight framed cabinet paintings and was first shown in 2010.
