The paintings in the Somewhere In Between Series developed ideas which originated from a trip to the Arctic Circle in the winter of 2006. After experiencing polar nights in the far north of Norway, frozen snow fields and the half-light of daytime, my imagined landscapes took on a different feel. Large scale deserted snowscapes, often pictured at night, became a preoccupation.
